« back   Hunter Douglas account numbers — sorting hat

Our HD account numbers carry a lot of unwritten history — the same 8-digit number meant different things at different points in time, and HD's portal extends each account with a pipe-delimited division code. This page is the one place that decodes all of it.

⚠ Reorders default to the original address & account — always confirm shipping with the HD CSR.
When you order a part, remake, repair, or swatch against a historical order, Hunter Douglas will default to the original ship-to address and process it under the same account number the order was originally placed under. That's a problem for orders tied to closed locations:When placing a remake / repair / parts order on any historical record, always tell the HD CSR to ship to the current ASA warehouse / shop address. Don't assume the system will route it correctly — and don't ship direct to the customer either.

The accounts

10040759 is the parent account, originally Artisan Shutter's pre-existing HD account before they acquired A Shade Above. 10040389 was the first sub-account opened under it. The other accounts followed over time as locations opened and closed; 10189451 joined the family later through the Aug 2024 acquisition of Diana's Blinds and Designs, an independent local HD dealer that became our Fort Mill location.

10036416   — Providence Promenade / Main retail (discontinued Jan 2026)

Originally opened for the Providence Promenade location and used exclusively for it until August 2021, when PIC went live. Aug 2021 → Aug 2024 it became the company-wide retail account for every location except Diana's / Fort Mill. After Aug 2024 (Fort Mill acquisition) it was used only for parts. Discontinued January 20, 2026 in favor of 10040759 as part of the HD/ALTA dual-brand merger — the whole company's main orders now run through 10040759.

10040759   — Artisan Shutter parent → Company-wide primary

Originally Artisan Shutter's pre-existing Hunter Douglas account — Artisan was already buying from HD before they acquired A Shade Above. When ASA was acquired this became the parent account, with 10040389 as the first sub. From Aug 2021 onward most retail flowed through 10036416 instead. In January 2024, to align with the HD/ALTA merger, 10040759 became our primary account again, absorbing past ALTA orders and used mostly for HD Architectural / contract orders. As of Jan 20, 2026 — when 10036416 was discontinued — the entire company's main orders run through this account.

10036296   — ASA Coastal / North Myrtle Beach

Opened by Chad Alexander for the ASA Coastal / NMB location; first order recorded July 23, 2018. Pre-Aug 2021 it carried a mix of architectural and standard HD retail depending on how Chad ordered. From Aug 2021 (PIC) to Jan 20, 2026 (10036416 discontinuation) Coastal retail followed the ASA Charlotte retail flow through 10036416, so this account was mostly architectural. After Jan 20, 2026 Coastal retail follows the company-wide primary account 10040759 — this account stays architectural-leaning.

10040389   — South End / Camden Road — first ASA sub-account (closed location)

First sub-account opened under the Artisan Shutter parent (10040759) when A Shade Above was acquired — A Shade Above orders trace back to the 2010 acquisition from Bruce Abramson. Originally used at the now-closed Camden Road / South End location by Angela Goodman and Chad Alexander (before Chad moved to start the Coastal account). Used regularly until the PIC merger; afterward Angela kept it as her default login and primarily routed swatches through it. After Angela's departure in mid-2025 the account essentially stopped being used.

10030778   — Cornelius

Cornelius location HD Retail account; first order recorded June 24, 2014. Largely stopped getting used in August 2021 with the addition of PIC — Cornelius retail flow shifted to the company-wide retail account (10036416) and later to the primary 10040759 after Jan 20, 2026.

10189451   — Diana's Blinds & Designs / Fort Mill (legacy)

The original Hunter Douglas account for Diana's Blinds and Designs — a separate, independent local HD dealer in Fort Mill. We acquired Diana's in August 2024, and from that point forward Fort Mill activity is rolled into our company's books. The HD portal still flags this account as DO NOT USE.

How to read it on this site

Every place an HD account number renders, hover for the full backstory in a tooltip. Inside an order block you'll see a small purple tag like Providence Promenade next to the order number — that's the contextual phase that account was in on the date that particular order was placed. So a 2018 order to 10036416 reads as Providence Promenade, while a 2024 order to the same number reads as Parts.
